Richard Gilewitz to perform for Charlotte's Web Feb. 24

Richard Gilewitz will perform for Charlotte’s Web at 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, at RiverHouse B&B, 11052 Ventura Blvd., Machesney Park.

As a composer and performer of a kaleidoscopic mixture of selections for the 6- and 12-string guitar, Gilewitz may be best known for his quirky outlook on life. “Fingerstyle Guitar Through Time” is truly a magical journey of instrumental music, tales from the road, and a few laughs along the way. Incorporating his own personality and orchestration into this sound tunnel of timeless musical history, Richard delivers a musical palette filled with colorful imagery of samples from European, contemporary and Spanish classical works to the traditional folk, blues and American Primitive eras.

“At turns mesmerizing, playful, humorous and wistful, Gilewitz is a master of moods when he speaks to his audiences through his guitar… He’s always at the service of his inner voice, which has a sneaky way of connecting directly to the listener’s heart.”—Best Acoustic Solo Artist—1994-1999—Weekly Planet magazine.
