Road work makes travel to Tinker tricky

Visitors to Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum are advised that road closures and construction will make access to the Museum tricky through the end of May. The Museum, at 411 Kent St., is usually accessible from South Main Street or from the Museum’s back entrance on Winnebago Street. Currently, Winnebago Street is closed for reconstruction, and South Main between Cedar and Kent Street is also closed.

Visitors coming from the northwest should come south on Winnebago Street to Cunningham Street (beyond the first barricade). Turn right onto Cunningham and then left onto West Street. On West, they should proceed to Morgan Street, turn left on Morgan, and then left onto Court Street. Court Street ends at Kent Street.

Visitors coming from the northeast should take Kishwaukee Street south to College Avenue and turn right onto College. College Avenue becomes Morgan Street, and visitors can take the Morgan Street Bridge across the Rock River. On the other side of the bridge, turn right onto South Main Street and left onto Kent Street just before the road closure.

Visitors from the south can access the Museum; South Main Street is open to Kent Street.
