Rock River Independent Film Festival set for June 23-25

The Rockford Film Project/Storefront Cinema has announced The Rock River Independent Film Festival. In its fourth year, the festival will be at North Towne Cinema, 890 W. Riverside Blvd. The festival is scheduled for the weekend of June 23-25. The mission of this year’s fest is to support domestic and international film and video artists. All categories and genres are welcome.

Call for entries! The Rockford Film Project/Storefront Cinema is soliciting short and feature-length films/videos to showcase at The Rock River Independent Film Festival.

Attendees of the weekend festival will also get their chance to have their voice heard by voting for the “Patron’s Pick” award.

Categories: Shorts and Features (with various subcategories TBD).

Deadlines are as follows:

Feature-length: April 3 (early); May 1 (final); and

Shorts: April 24 (early); May 15 (final).

Accepted preview formats are Mini DV, DVCam, DVD, and VHS cassettes. Preview formats will not be returned.

For the final exhibition, the following formats will be accepted: 35mm, 16mm, 8 mm, Mini DV, DVCam, DVD, VHS, Beta Cam, DVC Pro.

Entry Fees

Features (30-120 minutes): $30 ($20 for students with proof); $35 (final, regardless of student status)

Shorts (up to 15 minutes): $25 ($15 for students with proof); $30 (final, regardless of student status)
