The Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC) opened a new donor center on Perryville Road in Rockford. This new donor center will provide the community with an additional site for donating lifesaving blood products. The Perryville Donor Center is one of three RRVBC locations; the headquarters is on Sixth Street in Rockford and RRVBC opened a Freeport Center in January.
The Rock River Valley Blood Center continues to seek out ways in which to make donation convenient and accessible for donors. As our community grows, the demand for blood increases, and it is our responsibility to meet those needs. By giving people in the area options as to where and when they can donate, and having a location in an area where many of our donors live and work, we hope to make the process of giving blood as simple and easy as possible, encouraging more people to do so, CEO Linda Gerber said.
The new donor center is at 3065 N. Perryville Rd., Suite 105, in front of Woodmans. It is open Monday-Thursday, 6 a.m.-7 p.m., Friday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m., and Saturday, 7 a.m. -1 p.m. For more information, call 815-965-8751 or visit online at www.rrvbc.org.
The Rock River Valley Blood Center serves as a community blood center, and is the sole provider of blood products and services to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, Rockford Health Systems, SwedishAmerican Health System, Beloit Memorial Hospital, Edgerton Hospital and Health Services, Freeport Health Network, Mercy Harvard Hospital and Rochelle Community Hospital.
