Rock River water level lowered

Thursday, March 8, the water levels on the Rock River will be temporarily lowered by 2 feet to expose some critical portions of the Fordham Dam for structural assessment inspection.

ComEd will operate the dam and perform the lowering of river levels with observation performed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the City of Rockford. The inspection is part of the dam assessment project conducted by the City of Rockford. Inspection of Fordham Dam is subject to weather conditions.
