Rockford celebrates Fire Prevention Week

The Rockford Fire Department is marking Fire Prevention Week this week with open houses at all Rockford fire stations. The public is invited to visit fire stations in Rockford this Saturday, Oct. 11, from 1 to 4 p.m. The Fire Department is also sponsoring displays and educational activities at the Colonial Village Mall Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Firefighters will also be visiting schools in District 205. At this week’s City Council meeting, Mayor Doug Scott proclaimed this week “Fire Prevention Week” in Rockford.
