The Miser, a satirical comedy, was written by French playwright Molière. The play involves a rich moneylender, Harpagon, whose feisty children long to escape from his penny-pinching household and marry their respective lovers. Convinced that his children are plotting to rob him blind, Harpagon proceeds with his own arrangements until, to his horror, he discovers the fortune he buried in his garden has been stolen.
Cast includes students Derik Marcussen, James Rodriguez, Alexis Martino, Joe Bohn, Kari Orf, Alan Wales, Scott Roberts, Charlie Rasmann, Amber Wines and Makie Maratos. The Miser is directed by guest director Martin McClendon, a 1991 graduate of Rockford College.
