Rockford Dance Co. seeks dancers

Rockford Dance Company is seeking accomplished dancers, both male and female, to join the Company. Auditions will be held for intermediate and advanced dancers at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 21, for full, associate, apprentice and trainee members. Candidates must have strong technique in ballet, modern and pointe work. Individuals must be at least 13 years old as of September 2004.

Auditioneers should bring a résumé, headshot, ballet slippers and pointe shoes, for the women, to the audition. The audition will consist of a ballet class to begin at 10:30 a.m.

This will be the Rockford Dance Company’s 31st season. It will feature the annual fall performance of The Nutcracker and the full-length spring performance of Cinderella, both on the beautiful Coronado stage. RDC will also perform for the Arts for Life benefit in November and for First Night in December. Company members will have the opportunity to choreograph for the Young Choreographers Concert, which is held in February. Company members receive a reduction in tuition cost to compensate for their extended time commitment to rehearsal and performance. For more information, contact Margaret Faust at 963-3341.
