The Bolts tip off their 20th anniversary season on the road Friday, Nov. 18 against their arch rival, the Gary Steelheads. The rivalry continues with the longest-tenured minor league basketball team to kick things off in the friendly confines of the MetroCentre Sunday, Nov. 20 with a no-holds-barred brawl against the Gary Steelheads at 5:05 p.m. The Jesse White Tumblers will perform at half-time, and the first 5,000 fans in attendance that night will receive a free magnet schedule.
The Bolts hope to have two victories by the time they face the follow-up rematch of the CBA finals Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 7:05 p.m. as the Lightning take on the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Other highlights on the upcoming schedule include Basketball Bank Giveaway Dec. 12 against the Yakima Sun Kings. The Dec. 15 home game allows fans to see the newly formed Albany Patroons. The Amazing Christopher will perform at half-time Saturday, Dec. 17, as the Bolts play the Dakota Wizards. Some upcoming giveaways for Lightning fans for the 2005-06 season will include a 6-player posters series, T-shirts, baseball caps, Bobble Head dolls, and six-pack coolers.
Its our 20th anniversary season, and we are working on making this season the best one yet, says Lightning GM Michael Neville. Every home game is going to be something a Rockford Lightning basketball fan wont want to miss! Head Coach Chris Daleo adds hes looking forward to facing the new Albany expansion team. The new faces only make the league better; its going to be an extremely competitive year in the CBA, and the Lightning are ready for the challenge.
