MILWAUKEEBergners is holding its semi-annual Community Day Saturday, March 4, and local residents can act now to support the community. From now until Community Day, hundreds of local non-profit organizations and schools are selling coupon savings booklets for discounts and special offers at Bergners and keeping 100 percent of the $5 booklet price. Plus, people purchasing the packets receive multiple money saving discounts at Bergners good all-day Saturday, March 4.
Discounts include one coupon for $10 off an item of $10 or more and eight 20 percent coupons (some exclusions apply) valid on merchandise storewide all day on Community Day.
The Community Day event supports local non-profit organizations, and is another great way Bergners is able to help give back to your community, said Christine Knipple, vice president of Special Promotions & Publicity. Weve helped thousands of organizations by making this fund-raiser fun and easy for the groups.
Qualifying Community Day organizations include local 501-C-3 non-profit organizations, churches and schools. One of the many local groups involved in Bergners Community Day is Walter Lawson Childrens Home, which is able to purchase adaptive equipment for developmentally disabled children who live at the home. The funding also allows them the ability to go out into the community for numerous activities. In 2005, Walter Lawson Childrens Home sold 201 coupon booklets, raising $1,005. To register your group to participate in Bergners Community Day, contact your local store and ask for the Community Day Captain.
Since the inception of Community Day in 1999, participating organizations at all Carson Pirie Scott & Co. stores have been able to raise more than $24 million combined. In 2005 alone, participating organizations at all stores raised a combined $5.7 million.
