Rockford Park District offers Riverboat and trolley rides

Discover the scenic beauty and the history of the Rock River by both land and water excursion rides on the Rockford Park District’s Forest City Queen riverboat and track Trolley Car 36. A fascinating river history narrative accompanies both rides.

The Trolley operates Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays; Forest City Queen cruises depart Wednesdays, and Friday-Sunday. The Forest City Queen also offers Ski Broncs cruises, family fun nights, Friday fish fry, and elegant dining specialty cruises; minimum three days advance reservation needed. Both the Forest City Queen and the Trolley depart from Riverview Park, 324 N. Madison St., Rockford, and both are completely wheelchair accessible. A sign language interpreter will be aboard to provide narration July 9 and Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. on the Trolley, and at 3 p.m. on the Forest City Queen; interpreters are available during the season with advance notice. Private rentals and group meal rides are also available. Brochures with ride schedules and prices are available at the Trolley Station, Park District offices and facilities, or by calling (815) 987-8894 (TTY, 815 963-DEAF).
