Rockford Sexual Assault Counseling seeks volunteers

Rockford Sexual Assault Counseling, Inc., is recruiting volunteers to provide advocacy for victims of sexual assault or abuse and their families. You will play an important part in helping victims feel they are not alone and not to blame for the assault or abuse.

The agency provides 40 hours of training for all volunteers. Ten of these hours are completed through home-study, and the balance of the hours will be completed Saturday, Feb. 18 (8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.); Tuesday, Feb. 21 (6-9 p.m.); Tuesday, Feb. 28 (6-9 p.m.); Tuesday, March 14 (6-9 p.m.); Tuesday, March 21 (6-9 p.m.); and Saturday, March 25 (8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.).

A $35 contribution is requested to cover the training and materials. Refreshments are provided, as well as lunch on the full-day Saturday classes.
