Rockfords new professional soccer team opened its American Indoor Soccer League (AISL) season with a big road win Saturday night, Nov. 11.
The newly formed Rockford Thunder traveled to Ohio to take on defending AISL champion Cincinnati Excite. They outscored the Excite 8-6.
Bato Radoncic was the hero for the Thunder as he scored three goals and added two assists. The Thunders John DaVae also added two goals, including the game-winner late in the final period.
Matt Brienes led the Excite with a record-setting five goals.
The two teams will meet again Sunday night, Nov. 19, for the Thunders home-opener at the Wedgebury Indoor Sports Complex. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Fans interested in attending the game can order tickets at email@example.com or calling (877) 507-5840.
