The 37th Annual Rockton Juried Art and Craft Fair will transform Rocktons Village Green Park into an outdoor gallery from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 19.
There is free parking and free admission to the event, and food is available for purchase. Village Green Park has a lovely country atmosphere and is at the corner of Blackhawk and Union (Rockton Road) in Rockton.
Approximately 70 artists are expected to show and sell their work, many of whom have won awards. A wide variety of media in fine arts and selected crafts will be available. Included will be oils, acrylics, watercolors, metal sculpture, pottery, wood fiber, jewelry, stained glass, folk art, paper, photography and a book signing.
This years judge will be Dorothy Bock, director and co-founder of Womanspace in Rockford.
The Rockton Juried Art and Craft Fair is sponsored by the Hononegah Womans Club. The proceeds of the event are given back to the community through scholarships, story hours at both Rockton and Roscoe libraries, Fair Oaks Nursing Center, a local food pantry and other local charities.
