Helmets can reduce the risk of brain injury by as much as 88 percent. Unfortunately, it is estimated that only 15 to 25 percent of kids wear helmets.

Bicycles are associated with more childhood injuries than any other consumer product except the automobile. About 540,000 bicyclists visit emergency rooms with injuries every year. Of those, about 67,000 have head injuries.
