Rockton UMC hosts Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School (VBS) will be held at the Rockton United Methodist Church, at 102 W. Chapel St. (at Route 75/Blackhawk Boulevard, two blocks north of Main Street), from June 27 to July 1, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with one exception. On Tuesday, June 28, VBS will be held in conjunction with the annual All-Church Pool Party at the Walt Williamson Swimming Pool across the street from the church, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Pool Party attendees should bring their own drinks, a snack to share, swim toys, and friends.

This year’s VBS program will be Group’s “Serengeti Trek—Where Kids Are Wild About God.” Children will join Safari Crews for Bible Point Crafts, team-building games, lively Bible songs, and tasty treats. Activities are designed to help faith grow into real life. Kids will choose a Daily Challenge, an exciting way to live out what they learn, and participate in a hands-on missions project called Operation Kid-to-Kid that involves nearly a million other children across North America.

Children from preschool through elementary grades are invited to attend, and older children and adults are encouraged to help. Fees are $3.50 per child, or $7 per family. The Rockton United Methodist Church’s VBS is open to the community. To register or to volunteer, call the church office at (815) 624-7591.
