Rolling down the river—finally!

The Forest City Queen was feeling restless when the Rock River closed to all boat traffic and under a wake order, but she’s ready and raring to go now that the ban’s been lifted, and she’s got some great new features for people to enjoy.

River District Catering Company is providing gourmet meals aboard the Forest City Queen this season, with a “not your typical Rockford Friday Night Fish Fry” and special Dinner Cruises with entertainment. Your meal may now be complemented with beer or wine available for purchase on board.

Play QUEENGO (a special version of BINGO) for prizes, and public hourly rides include a new river history highlights tour.

Wednesday nights, a family pizza dinner ride is available with the best seat on the river for watching the Ski Broncs.

Reservations for meal rides are required three days in advance. Call 987-8894 (TTY 963-DEAF) to make reservations. Private dinner cruises with meal options are great for family gatherings, business functions, or organizations.

The Forest City Queen staff welcomes the opportunity to serve guests a fine dining experience aboard the Rockford Park District’s wheelchair-accessible excursion boat.
