Roper Whitney of Rockford, Inc., an associate sponsor of KDL Racing and the No. 01 NASCAR Busch team, is bringing nationwide racing to Rockford. En route to the NASCAR Busch race in Wisconsin, the KDL Racing team, along with team truck and race car, will pay a visit to Roper Whitney for an afternoon of interaction with fans and their ally sponsor.
For nearly a century, Roper Whitney of Rockford has been a manufacturer of metal fabricating machinery and hand tools, bringing together the finest brand names in the industry. The Roper Whitney line includes 200 different items distributed by 800 companies worldwide, with most products produced right in Rockford. KDL racing has the benefit of Roper Whitney/Pexto fabricating machinery in their facility.
Keith Duesenberg, grand nephew of the legendary Fred and Augie Duesenberg, and Indy Racing League Infiniti Pro Series team owner, and Dwayne Leik, former business manager of Marcis Racing and part-time NASCAR Busch Series driver, came together in 2005 to form Keith Duesenberg and Leik Motorsports (KDL). Driver Jay Sauter signed with KDL and returned to NASCAR fulltime in 2006 to race in the Busch Series. Jay Sauter is son of the former NASCAR driver Jim Sauter and the brother of fellow NASCAR Busch Series drivers Tim Sauter and Johnny Sauter. Jay drives the No. 01 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
Thursday, June 22 from 3-4 p.m., Roper Whitney, 2833 Huffman Blvd., in Rockford, will host Keith Duesenberg, Dwayne Leik and Jay Sauter. Viewing of the #01 race car will be open to the public, and Sauter will be available for autographs and pictures.
Keith Duesenberg and Leik Motorsport Racing combine several years of racing knowledge and operate south of Ashville in Fletcher, N.C.
