Join the Rockford Symphony Orchestra (RSO) and Music Director Steven Larsen for a night of patriotic music and fireworks during the ComEd Independence Day Spectacular at 8 p.m., July 2-3.
The RSO will perform at the Bengt Sjostrom (Starlight) Theatre at Rock Valley College (RVC), and will feature the RVC Chorale, directed by Paul LaPrade.
Prior to each concert, the RSO will host an all-American barbecue. Dinner begins at 6 p.m., with a fun-filled picnic and music by the Dixieland Docs. Tickets for the barbecue are $12 for adults and $8 for children, and can be purchased with concert tickets.
The RSO will perform well-known patriotic favorites, including The Armed Forces Salute, Yankee Doodle and the finale of The 1812 Overture, plus Salute to Ray Charles, Sousas Washington Post March and Dragons Memories of America.
Tickets for the ComEd Independence Day Spectacular can be ordered through the Starlight Theatre box office at 921-2160. Price is $25.
