Fans of jam band music have undoubtedly heard of Rusted Root. The Philadelphia-based band hit the music scene with their catchy tune, “Send Me On My Way” in 1995. Frontman Michael Glabicki began providing the band its opening act, honing his solo performance skills while warming up the crowd for the forthcoming show.

He describes his style as such: “It’s a little bit more out and in your face. It’s not so jolly and community oriented. It’s more intimate material.”

His MySpace page lists his musical influences as “Nicaraguan Street Music, Rusted Root, Cat Stevens, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young and The Turtles.”

Michael Glabicki takes the solo stage at Krypto Music Lounge, 308 W. State St., Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through the Kryptonite website at Get there early for this show!
