RVC appoints Biondo to board

Ted Biondo, former Rockford School Board member from 1997 to 2001, has been named to the Rock Valley College Board of Trustees. Biondo will fill the vacancy left by resigning trustee and Libertarian Party activist Doug Kelley.

Kelley is pursuing his higher education goals in the Chicago area. Kelley won election in 2001, and was known as an independent voice on the board. His mother, Kathy, joined him on the board last November after she won election in the spring of 2003.

Biondo was known as a financial watchdog during his tenure with the Rockford School Board—an attribute that may serve him well considering RVC’s five consecutive years of financial deficits.

Biondo is a longtime employee of Hamilton Sunstrand. He is expected to be sworn in Aug. 31. His appointment expires next April.
