RVC Dental Hygiene Clinic seeks patients

RVC Dental Hygiene Clinic seeks patients

Rock Valley College’s Dental Hygiene program is looking for patients to receive low-cost dental hygiene care through the college’s Dental Hygiene Clinic.

The clinic offers preventive dental services. Clients will receive a full oral examination, medical history, oral cancer screening and dental hygiene cleanings. All work is done under the supervision of licensed dental hygienists, and a licensed dentist is on-site during the clinic hours.

Some additional services available to patients include X-rays, fluoride treatment and more.

The clinic serves insured and uninsured populations, at nominal fees.

Students in the Dental Hygiene program provide client care as part of their two-and-a-half-year course of study. The students see clients during four semesters of their education at RVC. Upon graduation, they must pass national board and regional board exams to receive their license to practice.

The program at Rock Valley College is in its second year and has enrolled the second class of students. Students are now providing preventive dental hygiene services to the public. The dental hygiene clinic is located in RVC’s Stenstrom Center for Career Education at 4151 Samuelson Road just east of Jefferson High School in Rockford. The dental hygiene facility is newly constructed and includes state-of-the-art equipment.
