Saint Anthony offers women’s health series

OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center is sponsoring its Annual Women’s Health Series beginning with health screenings offered at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. presentations Thursdays, Feb. 16 and March 9. The free series will be held in the Foundation Room at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.

In the first session Feb. 16, Julia Norem, Boone County Health Department, will present “Obesity in Children: A Call to Action.” Norem will discuss methods for preventing heart disease by encouraging healthy choices at an early age.

In the second session March 9, Jack W. Lenox, M.D., a board certified obstetrician/gynecologist, will discuss “Preventing a Broken Heart: Keeping Intimacy Alive in Your Marriage.”

A free women’s Heart Risk Assessment screen, which includes cholesterol levels, blood sugar, blood pressure, pulse and a comprehensive questionnaire, will be offered prior to the programs.
