Saturday, June 10, is ‘Biker Jam Day’

Saturday, June 10, has been proclaimed “Biker Jam Day” by the Office of the Mayor of the City of Rockford. Hours are noon to 6:30 p.m. at Kegel Harley-Davidson/Buell, Harrison & Perryville roads, Rockford. Admission is free.

The Biker Jam event will be the 16th annual fund-raiser for Goldie Floberg Children’s Center. Organizers are hoping to break all previous amounts raised for the center in the past.

It’s an outdoor event full of food, fun and live entertainment that many look forward to each year. Kegel Harley-Davidson/Buell and the Rock River Harley Owners Group proudly pulls this festival together every year to help the children. Cumulus Radio and LaMonica Beverages are also sponsors this year.

Biker Jam draws 2,500-3,000 or more people each year for this one-day event, which has raised more than $34,000 for the Goldie Floberg Center in the last five years.

Guests will enjoy live entertainment by Ernie & the Po’ Boys playing R&B/blues from 1 to 3 p.m., and Southern Heritage playing country from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Plenty of beverages and food (Damon’s Ribs, Taylor Street Pizza and more) will be available. For the shoppers, there will be various vendors on site. People can enjoy bike field events and games to watch or participate in. Topping it off will be the drawing of this year’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle winner.

“If you have never attended the Biker Jam before, be sure to join us for the fun. It’s a good cause, for the Goldie Floberg children, plus you’ll have a great time,” said Mark Kegel, owner and general manager of Kegel Harley-Davidson/Buell.
