n Motorcycle enthusiasts launch annual ride for American military men and women Sunday, May 29 in recognition of Memorial Day
All motorcyle enthusiasts are invited to the Second Annual Memorial Ride Sunday, May 29. The event will honor the men and women of our American military, both past and present. The cost is only $10 per bike registered. All proceeds go to benefit the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund, which honors the bravery and dedication of our armed forces who have sacrified life and limb by providing educational scholarships to their children (see www.freedomalliance.org).
The RFA Open Road Club, part of The Community at Rockford First Assembly, is sponsoring the event. Events begin with registration at 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot at 5950 Spring Creek Rd. (northwest corner of Spring Creek and Mulford roads) in Rockford, followed by a service honoring our troops. Lunch and prizes at noon are included in the cost. At 1 p.m., bikers will leave Rockford First Assembly and ride to the war memorial site in Kirkland, Ill. For more information, call Ken Smith at The Community at Rockford First Assembly at 877-8000.
