Second Annual Rockford in 20 contest to kick off

Junior Achievement of Rock River Valley’s Second Annual “Rockford in 20” contest is in high gear.

Asking kindergarten through 12th grade students “Where do you see Rockford in 20 years?” this contest provides local students the opportunity to become involved in the continued renaissance of their hometown.

There are four categories to this competition:

Senior High School—Students write an essay of no more than 500 words. One winner receives a $2,000 college scholarship.

Freshman, Sophomore, Junior High School—Students write an essay of no more than 500 words. One winner receives a $750 college scholarship.

Middle School—Students write an essay of no more than 500 words. One winner receives a desktop computer.

Elementary School—Kindergarten-second grade students will draw a picture. Third to fifth grade students will write an essay of no more than 100 words. The top student in each grade will receive a $100 savings bond, along with other fun prizes.
