Severson Dells to host ‘Silent Lights’ luminaria

Severson Dells Education Foundation will host a “Silent Lights” luminaria consisting of music and a candle-lit forest to take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Come out and walk the hard-surfaced trail at Severson Dells Forest Preserve as it is lit with more than 400 luminaries. Sit back after a hike and be entertained by a full night of great music.

Featured entertainers are Burce Hecht, performing from 7 to 9 p.m. in the museum room, and Casey’s Fancy, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the classroom.

As an extra bonus, drawings for the 2002 raffle prizes will be at 8 p.m. Raffle tickets are available now through the night of the Luminary.

The program is free to members of “Friends of Severson Dells.” If you’re not a current member, you may join that night. Cost for non-members: $2 per adult, $1 per child (under 13), $5 family maximum.

Call (815) 335-2915 for directions or more information.
