Rockford’s hometown heroes, Cheap Trick, sold out the 18,000-seat Hollywood Bowl Aug. 10 and 11, performing the Beatles’ famous album. A cast of superb guest artists gave amazing performances with our band, and their talented variety made the image on the cover of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band powerfully alive. Pictured from left Bun E. Carlos, Robin Zander and Hollywood Bowl Orchestra Conductor Edwin Outwater. Echoing the many standing ovations, the original engineer of the album, Geoff Emerick, was ecstatic. More in our next issue; we were there.—Frank Schier
