Fusing a mix of funk, rock, jazz and electronic, the group performs at popular venues and festivals across the nation, including The Metro, The Double Door, Abbey Pub, numerous summer festivals in Chicago, The Lions Den and Coda in New York City, and Birdys in Indianapolis. Members have also performed at international festivals, such as the Montreux and Vienna jazz festivals.
Influencesfrom Primus, Weather Report, Led Zeppelin and Steely Danfuel the creative engines of Spare Parts.
The group is receiving airplay on national and college radio stations across the country. Members of the group have shared the stage with The Jazz Mandolin Project, Liquid Soul, Particle, Stanton Moore, Pnuma Trio, Jeff Coffin, Fareed Haque and Victor Wooten. The band has also scored music for several independent films and commercials.
According to Brent Stewart of Nightlife, Spare Parts is: Incredibly funky! A tight, concisely performed set of tunes transforming them from a jam band into the more precise, composition-oriented unit. Spare Parts are decidedly more progressive.
