According to the book Differentiated Instruction, “If students aren’t learning the way that we teach, we need to teach them in the way that they learn.” Spectrum School does just that, using an individualized approach that allows all children to succeed. With a 12 to 1 student to teacher ratio and the most sophisticated multiple intelligence learning program in the region, Spectrum understands the needs and strengths of each child. Children learn by doing and utilize strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Spectrum includes foreign language exposure and integrates the arts. According to a 1999 study, children in an arts-based curriculum are far superior in creative thinking, problem solving, risk taking and cooperation. Grade point averages and ACT scores have ranked above average for Spectrum graduates.
