Spook'tacular Pumpkin Patch Day at Lockwood Oct. 9

Rockford Park District’s Lockwood Park Trailside Equestrian Centre and Children’s Farm invites everyone for a day of family fun at a new event this year, “Spook”tacular Pumpkin Patch Day, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., Oct. 9 (Columbus Day) at 5201 Safford Rd., Rockford.

A variety of activities for all ages will be available at the event; free activities include “Ag in the Classroom” educational sessions throughout the day, sponsored by the Winnebago County Farm Bureau Ag Literacy Committee, and visits to the Children’s Farm.

Admission to Pumpkin Patch Day is free; additional activities and fees are as follows: game tickets, 50 cents; pumpkin launch, $1; tractor-drawn hayrides, $1; pony ring, $2; corn maze, $2. Visitors may also purchase and paint pumpkins. “The Undertaker” will provide music at the event, and food concessions and the Friends of Lockwood gift shop will be open.
