St. Chad’s Episcopal plans free Thanksgiving dinner

LOVES PARK—St. Chad Episcopal Church is seeking volunteers and monetary donations for their second annual free Thanksgiving dinner.

The dinner will be from noon to 4 p.m., Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23. Volunteers are needed for preparation, serving, and clean-up, and all funds donated will help to defray the cost of the dinner.

The dinner is provided free of charge to all. Last year, more than 50 people were served, and dinner organizers hope to double that figure this year.

Marsha Bittman, co-chairman of the event, said, “Last year’s dinner was a wonderful success, and brought a lot of people from the community together. We’re happy that we can provide a holiday meal for so many people.”

Volunteers can sign up by calling the church at 633-6633, and donations may be sent to St. Chad Episcopal Church, 6245 N. Second St., Loves Park, IL 61111.
