Rev up for a fast ride at the Second Annual Racing for RAMP Saturday, June 16, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Rockford Speedway.

Tickets can be purchased in advance on the day of the race. Cost of a Ride Along ticket is $35, including five laps around the Rockford Speedway, a photo with the car and driver, a T-shirt, pit tour, food provided by Hooters (until 6:30 p.m.), and a ticket to that night’s race. Ride along tickets make great Father’s Day gifts! For $15, a guest ticket can be purchased, which includes admission to Racing for RAMP (without a ride), pit tour, food and a ticket to that night’s race.

This event is the brainchild of hot rods: Mark Numbers (Kar Korner), Neleta Schene (Insight) and Ryan Carlson (NASCAR-Whelen All-American Series), and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of the Deery family and Gregg McKarns of the Rockford Speedway.

Proceeds benefit RAMP’s Independent Living Services for people with disabilities in northern Illinois. RAMP’s mission is to promote an accessible society that allows and expects full participation by people with disabilities. RAMP advocates for and serves people with disabilities in north central Illinois with the purpose of increasing their ability to become a productive, contributing and self-directing member of society.

This year’s major sponsors are Allegiant Air, Kar Korner, Rockford Speedway, Crimson Ridge, American TV, Insight Media, Hooters and Creative Pig Minds.
