Hundreds of NASCAR fans from Rockford and the surrounding area made the trip to Madison International Speedway (MIS) last June to see former Nextel Cup champions Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart. For those who may have missed it, the good news is the duo will return to the track again this year.
Kenseth and Stewart will compete in the second annual First Supply All-Star Challenge Tuesday, June 26.
Matts dad and promoter, Roy Kenseth, recently said: It was a no-brainer to bring this event back to MIS after the awesome event we had in 2006. Both Matt and Tony had a lot of fun and cant wait to return and compete again.
Tickets for the event are $25 for ages 11 and older and $10 for ages 10 and younger. Pit passes are available for ages 18 and older for $50. The pit pass also includes access to the grandstand area.
Tickets are on sale at the RK Race Promotions office in Cambridge, Wis., or an order form is available online at www.mattkenseth.com. Mail orders must be postmarked by Friday, June 15. Any tickets not sold prior to the event will be made available for an additional $5 at the track the day of the event.
Former Rockford Speedway and MIS track champion Bobby Wilberg and Rockford Speedway Spring Classic Champion Steve Rubeck are two of the local drivers who have registered and will be competing against Kenseth and Stewart.
The half-mile track is off Highway 138 in Wisconsin between Oregon and Stoughton.
