SwedishAmerican celebrates 96 years

SwedishAmerican Hospital will celebrate the 96th anniversary of its founding Wednesday, June 6. The event will be highlighted by a picnic for employees and volunteers, and a free neighborhood festival featuring food and rides.

The luncheon celebration will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Renaissance Pavilion parking lot on the SwedishAmerican campus. More than 1,500 people are expected to attend.

The festival, with free rides and refreshments, will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on 10th Street between Charles Street and Fourth Avenue. The festival, open to all neighborhood families, as well as SwedishAmerican employees and their families, is a celebration of SwedishAmerican’s heritage and commitment to central Rockford.
