SwedishAmerican ranks among top 100 networks

SwedishAmerican Health System has been named to the top 100 list of the nation’s best-performing networks. The results were compiled by Verispan, and recently released through Modern Healthcare magazine.

The annual assessment of the 100 most highly integrated healthcare networks (IHNs), is regarded as the nation’s premier rating system, evaluating IHNs on their performance and degree of integration.

The 2007 edition identifies the top 100 IHNs in the current universe of 581 non-specialty, local and regional networks in the United States that meet critical success factors. The rating is based on Verispan’s IHN Rating System™, which evaluates each network’s ability to operate as a unified organization in each of eight categories: integration, integrated technology, contractual capabilities, outpatient utilization, financial stability, services and access, hospital utilization, and physicians.

According to Dr. Bill Gorski, president and CEO for SwedishAmerican: “We value the importance of being recognized as a top integrated system. There is a direct correlation between this and the high quality of service that we provide to our patients. SwedishAmerican is committed to better integrating all services within the Health System.”

Verispan is a health care informatics joint venture of Quintiles Transnational Corp., and McKesson Corp, that provides a broad array of information products and services to the health care industry.
