‘Swingers’ raise $3,800 for Rockford Rescue Mission

Forest City Swing and Rock Valley College SHAPE Club combined efforts to raise $3,800 to help the homeless by co-sponsoring a community swing dance held at Stenstrom Center June 12. Other contributors included Culver’s on Harrison and Vale Studio. This year’s contribution more than tripled the amount raised last year, bringing the total donations to Rockford Rescue Mission to $5,000.

Forest City Swing Club is a non-profit organization focused on the community to provide fun and family-oriented entertainment. The board of directors are all Christian men and women who love the Lord and try to model their lives after Jesus Christ. “God has blessed us with ‘Forest City Swing’ and has developed a servant’s heart in us to give back to the community,” said Paul Andrews, treasurer for the organization.
