Syverson appointed to Senate Transportation Committee

State Sen. Dave Syverson announced he has been appointed to the Senate Transportation Committee.

“Transportation issues are vital to our part of the state. Serving on this committee will be important to the Rockford area as all major legislation regarding roads, air and rail are heard in this committee,” Syverson said.

This year, as a state, Illinois will be facing some of the most critical transportation needs in its history. “We are further behind in road work and maintenance work than any other time in our history. It is imperative that we pass and fund, both, a capital and a road plan this year,” Syverson said.

Syverson will also serve on the Senate Insurance Committee, as well as remain as ranking member on the Senate Budget Committee and ranking member on the Senate Health and Human Services Committee.
