Teacher grants available


Golden Apple Foundation of Rockford is once again accepting applications for classroom grants from Rockford School District 205 teachers. Grants are awarded for innovative projects that enhance the classroom experience but are not funded in the regular school budget. Awards range from $100 to $1,250. Recently funded projects have included Cultural Learning, Lifelong Fitness, Leadership Skills and International Business.

The Golden Apple Foundation is in its 7th year of taking positive steps to achieve improved education in the Rockford Public Schools. Almost $50,000 has been awarded to 87 educators and has impacted thousands of students.

The deadline for grant submission is Friday, Jan. 10 at 5 p.m. Applications can be mailed to or dropped off at: Golden Apple Office, c/o Professional Secretarial Services, 7210 E. State St., Suite 206, Rockford, Ill. Applications can be found in every Rockford Public School office and at www.goldenappleofrockford.com.
