Theater Review: The Diary of Adam and Eve—a musical in one act

Three wonderful and talented young people have brought us a clever musical based on the story of Adam and Eve. Their age contributes to the simple of story of two innocents encountering the real world. Ryan Bernsten is Adam, Emily Rogers is Eve, and Brian Patterson, the Snake. Well trained and immensely talented, their songs and dramatic portrayals are those of much more experienced players.

Bill Beard has worked with young people his entire career, and it is evident in The Diary of Adam and Eve. The enthusiasm of all involved, including parents and guests, showed complete support for the project. Beard’s set was creative and appropriate, and all technical details were most professional. Sharon Whitlock accompanied. Her years of work make her one of our best musicians.

The program was a benefit for the Youth Music Programs at the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center. Beard also directs and coaches those in the Broadway Bound program. We look forward to more performances.
