Three Vehicle Raffle has new twists

Purchasers of The Literacy Council’s Three Vehicle Raffle tickets can still take a chance on one of three Grand Prize autos, but new to this year’s raffle is a $15,000 cash option. The three winners selected June 9 at the annual 100 Men Who Cook event will have the option to take a VW Beetle, Saturn AURA, Jeep Compass OR the cash prize.

Also new for 2007—ticket purchasers can get pricing breaks on the $20 tickets—six for $100 or 20 for $250. These discounts can only be received by phone (815-963-7323, online ( or by visiting The Literacy Council (982 N. Main St., Rockford)—NOT at the outlets.

Outlets include: Logli, Belvidere Pacemaker, Alpine and Belvidere banks, Carpetland USA, WTVO/FOX 39, Saturn of Rockford, Bachrodt Auto Mall, and Bryden Motors in Beloit.

The Literacy Council exists to strengthen communities by providing literacy instruction to individuals and families through one-on-one free confidential tutoring and small group instruction.
