The Rockford Thunder of National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) will host its fourth clinic of the offseason Saturday, March 3 and Sunday, March 4, General Manager Aaron M. Moore announced.
This clinic will be put on in conjunction with Softball Night at the IceHogs. Last year, the IceHogs hosted more than 250 softball players and their families for a clinic and game.
This is a great opportunity for us to reach some folks who might not be aware of us yet, said Moore. Its also a chance for fans to check out some very exciting IceHogs hockey.
The cost of the clinic varies depending on the option registered for. Participants will have three different options to choose from, with all options coming with a ticket to see the IceHogs take on the Quad City Mallards at 7:05 p.m., March 3. The first option for participants, which will cost either $11 or $14 depending on ticket choice, will be to sign up for a one-hour session Saturday only. Option two, priced at $40 or $43, again depending on ticket choice, includes the Saturday one-hour session and a two-and-a-half-hour session Sunday. And option three, also priced at $40 or $43, is for Sundays clinic only.
Anyone who signs up for option No. 2 or option No. 3 will receive a special clinic t-shirt.
Friends and family members will also have the chance to purchase tickets for the game against the Mallards for either $11 or $14. Because it is Softball Night, the IceHogs are rewarding the team with the most participation overall to drop the ceremonial first puck with members of the Thunder.
Saturdays one-hour sessions will be less hands-on in instruction, focusing more on fundamentals and Q & A opportunities with players from the Thunder.
Sundays sessions will be much more in-depth with instruction with the primary focus of the clinic being hitting.
To register for the clinic, participants can download the registration form online at http://www.thunderprofastpitch.com/community/ or they can also call the team office at (815) 965-7000.
Season tickets are also on sale now and fans who purchase tickets and pay in full by Feb. 28 will receive a $25 discount off their entire order.
