Time for Three joins RSO at Starlight Aug. 5

Time for Three joins the Rockford Symphony Orchestra (RSO) and Music Director Steven Larsen for an evening of classical, folk and bluegrass at 8 p.m., Aug. 5. The RSO will be performing at the beautiful Bengt Sjostrom (Starlight) Theatre at Rock Valley College.

Philadelphia-based trio, Time for Three, brings a non-traditional blending of country, bluegrass, jazz and improvisation to Rockford. Consisting of Zachary DePue (violin), Nick Kendall (violin) and Ranaan Meyer (double bass), Time for Three is a charismatic ensemble with a reputation for “limitless enthusiasm and no musical boundaries.”

The concert begins with the world premiere of Reflections on Rushmore by composer Michael Gilbertson and “Rodeo” by Copland. Time for Three joins the RSO for J.S. Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, Serenata by Leroy Anderson, and traditional favorites Forget about It and Shenandoah.

Tickets can be ordered through the Starlight Theatre box office at 921-2160. Price is $20.
