Time to get Groovy in 2004

Want to spend an evening listening to awesome bands, hanging out in the trendiest night spots and enjoying delicious food and drinks all night long? Want all of this without having to drive all over town? Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 8, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., because the 6th annual Groove Walk is right around the corner!

Produced by On the Waterfront Inc., and the River District Association, Groove Walk features 13 River District establishments as they each host a local award-winning band.

Looking for some hard rock? More of an oldies fan? What about classic rock, blues, country or R & B? Well, Groove Walk 2004 has them all, and you’re gonna love it! Groove Walk is pleased to announce this year’s outstanding line-up of Best of Rockford and RAMI-nominated musicians with their corresponding River District locations:

u Too Deep—Bacchus Wine Bar & Restaurant, 515 E. State St.

u Dan Voll! Combo Loco—Irish Rose, 519 E. State St.

u Mr. Big Stuff—The Office Nite Club, 514 E. State St.

u Class Reunion—CJ’s Lounge, 300 E. State St.

u Basement Blues Band—Carlyle Brewing Co., 215 E. State St.

u Ernie and the Po’ Boys—Paragon On State, 205 W. State St.

u Agent Zero—Kryptonite, 308 W. State St., Suite 110

u Bare Bones—Swilligan’s Pub, 200 N. Church St.

u Jinger Christal—Little Italy’s Club 505—505 E. State St.

u Band of the Lost—Tom’s Tap, 315 S. Main St.

u Juelane—Gaspo’s Auto Inn, 310 S. Church St.

u Orange—Octane InterLounge, 124 N. Main St.

Ticket prices are $5 in advance and $7 at the door of each establishment. One Groove Walk ticket admits you to all 13 establishments, where you can enjoy 13 fantastic bands! Walk from establishment to establishment, or hop the RMTD trolley for a free ride as it runs along the Groove Walk route throughout the event.

A portion of the proceeds from this event benefit the RAMI’s Gary Wilmer Scholarship Fund, which helps graduating seniors continue their music education in college.
