Legendary Irish singer, songwriter and social activist Tommy Sands has been praised by Pete Seeger as having achieved … that difficult but wonderful balance between knowing and loving the traditions of his homeland and being concerned with the future of the whole world. Two of his recent projects speak volumes about him as a human beingteaching underprivileged prisoners in Reno, Nev., to write their own songs to defend themselves in court, and completing a CD written with Protestant and Catholic children in Northern Ireland. This show is co-sponsored by The Tin Whistle and Lorden Distributing. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door.
