Legendary Irish singer, songwriter and social activist Tommy Sands has been praised by Pete Seeger as having achieved that difficult but wonderful balance between knowing and loving the traditions of his homeland and being concerned with the future of the whole world.
Sands will be on stage at 8 p.m., Friday, March 11, at Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center, 415 N. Church St. As an extra treat, he will be doing special presentations at St. Peters Cathedral and Maria Montessori earlier on Friday. Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door.
