15-year-old remains in need of donor

Fifteen-year-old Craig Springer of Rockford, who was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Failure Jan. 21, remains in desperate need of a kidney transplant.

Springer’s story was featured in the July 30-Aug. 5, 2003, issue of The Rock River Times. A free classified ad has been running for months in the “Organ and Tissue Donation” section of the paper and has received about 20-25 responses, but none of the respondents was a close enough match.

Springer has type O blood and can accept any type of O blood, whether positive or negative. Anyone interested in donating should call 226-9781.

New addition to classifieds section

A new listing has been added to The Rock River Times’ “Organ and Tissue Donation” section of the classified ads. The ad reads: “I AM A 64-YEAR-OLD MALE in need of a kidney. If you’re interested, I’d love to hear about it. Please call 962-3645.”

This is the fifth free classified ad placed in the “Organ and Tissue Donation” section of the classified ads since the section was created.
