n Winnebago County officials and the Criminal Justice Center architect to present design process for the new jail facility

Two informational meetings will be held to provide the public with an opportunity to hear about the design process for the new Criminal Justice Center, which is being built from revenues received from the Public Safety sales tax approved by the voters last November.

The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, specifically for all city, county and municipal elected officials, their staff and the Crime & Public Safety Commission.

The second meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, specifically for the general public. Both meetings will be open to the public and will be held in the auditorium of Memorial Hall at 211 N. Main St. from 6 – 8 p.m. each evening.

Winnebago County officials and the Criminal Justice Center architects (Durant Group, Inc.) will present an explanation of the design process and will collect information, comments and concerns regarding how the design will be developed.

Insight Communications will tape both informational meetings, and they will be aired on cable channel 17 on Friday, Sept. 19, 2003. A link that may be accessed from the county’s Web site will provide updates on the progress of the design process. The Criminal Justice link will be available on or before Sept. 18, 2003, and can be viewed by accessing the County’s Web site at
