Director of National UFO Reporting Center in Seattle, Wash., speaks in Edwardsville
On Oct. 2, the Illinois chapter of a prominent international UFO organization called MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) listened to a multi-houred presentation given by Peter Davenport, director of the National UFO Reporting Center of Seattle, Wash. The presentation took place in Edwardsville, Ill. Davenport spoke for two hours, then ate supper with a part of the attending group before settling down for two more hours of informed UFO chatter, about half of which was stories by MUFON members.
Illinois MUFON members learned that Davenport ran the entire UFO Reporting Center. Hes the phone man, computer man, secretary and chief bottle washer, which tags about 16 hours of his day.
The center was founded on money Davenport made when he was CEO of his own multi-million-dollar biotech company. Davenport steered clear of paranormal topics in dealing with UFO cases he studied, but many of the cases were creepy enough. It was assumed his favorite recent UFO incident occurred two years ago in mountainous terrain in Pennsylvania. In that region, a young, rugged hiker who had a cabin in that remote, wild area came up missing. The soon-to-be-discovered victim knew the area well and traveled it often by foot and Jeep. Relatives found his Jeep, and inside was his clothing all folded neatly on a seat. Not far from the Jeep, the mans body was found methodically and neatly mutilated.
When the story hit the press, Peter Davenport started to investigate, but one day later, the feds stepped in. Although the case was clearly under local jurisdiction, the feds shut the case, and little else has been learned by the public. Davenport believes it was the first known case of human mutilation by a UFO in the United States. There was only one other similar case, and that occurred in Brazil.
