UW-Madison professor to speak about ancient Troy

Beloit, Wis.—The Art League of Beloit lecture series will present Archaeology, Art and Legend at Ancient Troy by guest speaker Dr. William Aylward at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the Logan Room at the Wright Museum of Art. Dr. Aylward will discuss art and architecture in recent excavations at Troy in Turkey. He is an assistant professor in the classics department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The Art League of Beloit presents lecture programs throughout the year. They also sponsor the Beloit and Vicinity Exhibition, currently on display at the Wright Museum of Art.

The Wright Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is on the Beloit College campus at the corner of College Street and Bushnell Street. Admission is free and open to the public.
